B.F. Skinner And Programmed Instruction

His operant behaviorism laid the foundation for learning theories that have been used in our classrooms for the last forty years both in terms of managing classrooms and in terms of instructional strategies. One of the offshoots of his work was programmed instruction, also called programmed learning. This paper explains Skinner's theories and provides a history of programmed instruction.
